Scripts like Arabic and Hebrew are written, and read, right to left. Is this in anyway linked to left or right handedness, and does the necessary processing of the words from right to left affect the brain structure or mental aptitudes in anyway (compared to left to right readers)?

In the beginning, first letters=signs were hand made signs:positions of fingers/hands/both hands. The right to left script preserved way it is written, signs are modified, stylizied.

Letters started with hand signs. Very interesting. Why should right to left be related to hand signs? And how does right to left affect/illustrate brain development?

When you read script you use your hands as reminder:this sign looks like this position of hands. Hand positions=signs were learned at home by family.SmileI bought a phablet(phone+tablet) for this.Alterantive was drawing tablet for artists&engineers but this one is "user friendly" one.LOL

That implies there is a difference in brain structure for people who wrote left to right influenced by their hand position predilection, from those who wrote right to left based on their separate hand position predilection.

I think it is easier to write from right to left than left to right, we know most humans are right-handed, so it can be said left to right script is written away from the body, the fact is that most of ancient scripts were written from right to left and some of them were changed to left to right later.

Would that be influenced by the type of tool and letter forms used in writing the script? 'Joined up' writing is easier for right handed people to write L-R. Block letters, or letters made up of wedge marks would be more ambidextrous friendly. Writing produced with a chisel in stone, or a printed/impression mechanism would also be ambidextrous friendly, as would writing on a vertical surface rather than on a flat plain.

Of course the type of tool and letter forms are important, I meant writing by a pen on ordinary paper, when you use a wedge-shaped tool, if you are right-handed then it can be easier to write from left from right, because you can see your work as you write (especially if you use a large tool), for this reason we see cuneiform was written from left to right.
