A massive project that'll let people re-live moments in history, by experiencing previous decades and set time periods, in vivid detail through a history simulator. To accurately depict previous time periods, the service will unprecedentedly use all of the world’s most credible information on those time periods. The service will be as widely used as Google Maps, in that it’ll be accessed by all demographics, whenever and wherever.

Goals:

  • Make the simulation work on all mobile devices and computers, the detail of the simulation will be increased accordingly, on higher end computers and mobile devices

  • Have a mode where your avatar will be born on the simulator’s first time period, and will age throughout the time period’s available (think Forrest Gump)

  • The user will be able to pick out a certain region for each decade and time period (80s Miami, etc)

  • Allow users to get information on most things they’ll see in the simulation. Create a system where they’ll be able to clearly identify which things they can get information on.

  • Promote it across all schools on Earth.

  • Allow users to explore hobbies that were common in those time periods (music, etc)

  • Create a website that’s tied with the simulator, the website will be amongst the most widely used websites on the internet.

  • Work with history and pop culture professors, as well as gather information from all top tier history books, etc on Earth. Gather all the most credible information on Earth to create a credible experience.

  • Create a system that’ll routinely update simulation, to make it more historically accurate.

  • Figure out a way where a vibrant community can help pitch in and help too. Unlike Wikipedia, their work must be reviewed before submitted.

  • Create the most accurate depictions of time periods with all detail’s that’s available on earth. Figure out how to properly construct areas that haven’t been well documented, to minimize criticism and controversy.

PLEASE offer any constructive criticism you can. You know, give me your guys' classic pessimistic, elitist input. But you know, something that's constructive .
Thanks!

I imagine you plan to do this after they release you on medication.Big smile

The problem and major roadblock I see with this is you need a consensus opinion or agreement on most of the historical events and timelines.  There are controversies surrounding many major [and minor] events in history.
Just browse any of the history forums, this one is a good example, and you'll see what I'm speaking of.

Indian history alone is a massive quick sand pit.  There are as many versions and views of it as there are folks who write about it.

You often see phrases such as, most scientists agree, or most historians agree.  Most scientists and historians couldn't agree on what to have for lunch, let alone something like the Holocost or other WWII events.  When you begin to go farther back in time it becomes even more open to conjecture and revisionism.

There are many subjects that, no matter how accurate you are, will be attacked by any number of
Nationalist extremists, all with their own view and slant on the subject.

This isn't a pessimistic or eliteist opinion, it's a very realistic assesment based on what I know and have seen over many years.

Just wait and see how many differing opinions this post will get. Wink
