It wouldn't have been too unusual for Newton to have been studying Aristotle, as he was studying at Trinity college, Cambridge, where students did so. If I remember right, many European universities managed to get works such as Aristotle from Islamic seats of learning in Spain such as Toledo.
What a handsome figure of a dragon. No wonder I fall madly in love with the Alani Dragon now, the avatar, it's a gorgeous dragon picture.

During the Renaissance, it was normal for scientists to study the writings of ancient Greek and Roman philosophers. The Classical Age was seen as the pinnacle of civilisation
