Interesting mixture of uniforms on the Balkan side. Some look French and others look Russian

Usually through the insert image function found in the Icon line above the posting space. However there appears to be a problem with it currently. It is being examined. Until then the only option is to insert a link with the photo. However before you do that you must receive permission first. To do that, you need to PM either the admin owner or a staff. To PM usually requires you to post approx ten posts prior to the function being activated.
These are safeguards to avoid spam bots.

Thanks and welcome to the forum.

I have this two photos, from the Balkan Wars era. My great-grandfather (in the first photo, the first from the right), fought voluntarily in the battles of Kilkis-Lahana (19 to 21 June 1913), Kresna-Gorge (July 1913) and in the Epirus front, in the battle of Aetorahi (end of 1912 to early 1913). He was a simple corporal and was decorated with the greek-turkish medal and the greek-bulgarian medal.

Can anyone tell me (seeing the photos) in which unit  or regiment was he, or even were the photos were taken? Anything, would be very helpful and valuable.

“Caught in the middle”, faced with new division lines amid celebrations of the First Balkan War. That’s how Bulgarian Muslims say they feel. 100 years later - some say this was “liberation”, while others insist it was “ethnic cleansing”

The First Balkan War was the only time in history that Greece and Bulgaria were not enemies.... During the Byzantine Empire, the Second Balkan War and WWW 1 & 2, Greece and Bulgaria were on the opposite camps!
