Topic: Changing Signatures Posted: 29-Sep-2012 at 14:49 |
Why do I "not have permission" to change my own signature?
Who,exactly, DOES have that permission? And why would another party have permission to alter my personal information?

To the first.... sounds like another glitch that occasionally pops in. As to the rest....That would be the Admin-Mods... afaik..... and it would only be done as a result of a specific request by a member; when encountering difficulties with doing it themselves for what ever reason. Passwords, sigs, etc. are examples. As to the rest of the personal stuff....I have never had a request to change it nor would I. I would direct them to the tech wiz admin Cyrus....and presume he got back to the member for resolution. Consequently, I have no other good answer to give ya. If there is an issue here or you suspect one. PM red clay. Best I can give. CV

First one, hmm, I'm not really sure, did you eat all your vegetables?
Seriously, that's a glitch that pops up once in awhile. I get it now and then. If it happens again, do the log off and delete cookies thing. If it continues let me know and I'll contact support.
2nd one- I have that power. The only valid reason for changing anything in your profile is if you seriously violate the CoC, and that is only in the Moderators Admin panel. that's where the "suspend user" button is.
The other reason would be if you forget your pass, one of us can go in and give you a new one etc.
Nothing more sinister or limiting than that.

The piece of advice I keep in mind, when it comes to changing such things, is try Internet Explorer.

So simply changing one's signature is seen as some sort of "evil activity" nort normally permitted? How weird.

I don't think that's what Red meant. Allempires has had problems with the forum host: it's very old, full of glitches and (ideally) needs to be replaced with something more reliable

I don't know how you arrived at that. I think I was pretty clear. The only weird thing I see is your seemingly negative view of us, without significant reason.
More fiber?
And Nick, no software, new or old is without it's glitches. Compared to the original, this one has been fairly reliable, or at least predictable.
