Yup tis hell to get caught supporting a client state's massacre of the citizen body then try to look clean.
But the Russian oligarchs, especially the closet communist ones, have never been interested in civil rights.... peace or self determination....taint their nature. Nor their history.Wink

This remains communist led, now misnamed as Russian, paranoia, versus NATO and its traditional opponents in the realm of international realpolitik.

It seems Syrians themselves are solving their problems, they are already fighting in the capital, some close friends and relatives of the dicator were killed today, hopefully no need for Russian or American Intervention.

A Shiite minority ruling a Sunni majority, the regime was always doomed as soon as it provoked a popular uprising and Syria really isn't that important to Russia they may let it go, besides if the rebels win they are more likely to be opposed to Washington that Moscow.
