Not exactly like Taliban because they are at least a legit organisation. They are Islamists that are actively seeking to impose Sharia law and Muslim caliphate. They are now in control in Egypt after Mohammad Morsi won the elections.
I thought the Muslim Brotherhood opposed bellydancing - so how come there is one clearer visible next to the bride, and possibly another next to the groom?
What is the context for this picture? Was Muneer al-Dallah a member of the Muslim Brotherhood at this time? Has the Muslim Brotherhood's beliefs changed?
Well to answer you Sidney, the Muslim Brotherhood has greatly changed throughout history. At its inception it was an organisation with social goals but with time their agendas shifted more towards religion, extremist religion at that. That's why the picture is almost incredible because it shows the big change that has occurred in this organisation with the passing of time.
Muneer was a chief member of the Muslim Brotherhood. They were generally conservative religiously but they were not extreme in any way. How come there are bellydancers in the wedding is anything but your guess really. To me it just shows how their focus was social more than being religious in nature.
I guess bellydancers are normal at Islamic weddings, unless you are ultra religious, so as the Muslim Brotherhood were not focused on fundamental religious adherence at that time, the bellydancers were acceptable. Just shows how much some of their beliefs have changed.
