We are not governed by that. We are governed by the United States Constitution.

The stuff from Scamp isn't new. It is tired however. As said before, southern apologists and revisionists have been trying to sell this stuff for years. Yes I'm a yankee, but I have also studied the Civil War from more than one perspective, something Scamp needs to do much more of.
Scamp should also take a good look at it from the European view as well.
What I would like to see is some ref. and sources for his more controversial ideas. And just in case he isn't paying attention, The South lost.

Scamp, it would be wise to heed Red's words and read other perceptions on the Lincoln Administration. British historian Alan Farmer provides a reasonably-balanced introduction to pre-Civil War America http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=7ADLPgF419YC&lpg=PA6&dq=alan%20farmer&pg=PA6#v=onepage&q&f=false

We are also governed by binding court rulings that interpert the Constitution and determine when certain conditions are met and when certain actions are warranted.
Though I am not familiar with the case nor Lincoln's suspension of Habeus Corpus, the court may have been concerned that Lincoln's suspension was too broad.
I guess in the end, Lincolns suspension of Habeu Corpus was reasonable (there was a national emergency) but so is the concept that an executive action can be reviewed by a court. The executive branch does not normally get to pick and choose which court orders it follows.

Guys, I've been looking on the net and Scamp is, in plain speak, a forum troll. No matter what forum, his "stuff" is the same.
TJ banged heads with him on Historum, where Scamp has been suspended or banned. Presumably due to the same revisionist BS as seen here. However, his presence has been noted on 3-4 other forums. Having glossed over the posts, there isn't anything different or new.
My experience tells me where this is going and how it will end. Scamp has the ability to change the direction if he or she wishes, but I doubt they will excercise the option.
Scamp has been officially warned, the ball is in his/her court.
A reality check, Scamp should stop and consider that they are running out of forums to troll.
