It interesting to know that some people discuss in the 'mod room', make decisions and set the rules.  I wish to such people to stay and enjoy their sterile forum for ever.

A quote from the movie 'The Third Man':

Harry Lime to Holly Martins: "It's not that awful... In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed; and they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, 500 years of peace and democracy, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock."

Of course, without sterilization, the bacteria, viruses and other nasty little things would enter the body, wreck havoc, tear up all the cells, eventually rotting the body itself.

After some recent discussions in the mod room, moderator procedures have changed to tighten the grip in controling nationalism/racism.

Sorry but there is still a whole lot of slack..if the decision was to be backed up with actions, we'd see something done about OSMANLI's flags and Jagatai Khan's signature. see http://www.tallarmeniantale.com a nationalistic propaganda site that promotes claims of the Armenian genocide being nothing but a myth

What's wrong with Osmanli's flag?

And I suggest you to have a look at strategos's avatar.

Both the site tallarmeniantale.com and my signature aren't provocative.

I will not change my signature.Even it gets me banned.

TRNC is a independent state however you call it "illegal".Its flag doesn't make propaganda.

And I am surprised how a man like you live here.

I personally would rather live in peace and democracy and have the cuckoo clock than the whole warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but thats just me.

I know what your getting at, I dont want a forum were EVERYBODY agrees with one another, that'd be pointless obviously. However there is civilised debate and then theres what this forum has been plagued with for some time now, nationalistic flame wars. Two very different things, one intelligent one idiotic.

The forum can do without the flame wars, nobody here thinks we should all agree and not have debates were people have strong beliefs and ideas that may occassionally be controversial, but to go out of the way like some people do to stir up trouble is something this forum can do without IMO.

It's funny how Nationalist wars in Asian threads just "died" down.

I mean, in those early days, the Asian topic thread was the only thread with over 100 posts because most of them were basically "wars."  I remember this guy from Hong Kong who made a lot of profane remarks, but I don't blame him; I as as immature as him in those days.  But it hits me in the way how Asians tacitly came to this idea that Nationalism is headache.  It's true.  I mean, nowadays, topic threads aren't as blazing as it used to be.  It just died down all of a sudden.

Well, I don't know if that previous comment was uselessinformation, but nice to see a peace agreement take place.  War happens, but it's nicer to have peace.  I want to make this Hollywood-sh comment that sounds really cool, but I don't have the vocab to do so, so I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

But really, this concordat really is an achievement.

Grrr..

Jagatai Khan,

The allegations in tallarmeniantale have been proven wrong in a debate between the author of that site and an Armenian, in wikipedia's Armenian genocide discussion section.

the debate for any one interested is here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Armenian_Genocide

But I fail to see, why you; say it has been proven wrong as the only thing the "wiki" can proove that its a site full of bull and ultra-nationalists and people that protect these kind of people.

I will not change my signature. The site has ideas and documents.Ypu don't have to read the site or believe it.

But the man named "strategos" here had put an Armenian-Turkish adress on his signature too.Is he an Armenian??NO.Is he Turkish??NO.How does he relate with the falsified genocide?

That is the provocation.

Strategos seems to go out of his way to provoke other members as far as I can see.

As I recall, someone said :
[QUOTE]The site has ideas and documents.Ypu don't have to read the site or believe it.[QUOTE]

Doesn't the exact same thing apply to his link?

While he is neither an Armenian nor a Turk, well at least according to my info. If you go through th site, you find that most of it's articles are about Hellines, either those of Pontus...etc or those of Cyprus, so the link obviously is related to his history, family..etc.

Here are the articles the site in question promotes:
(just click on 'HOME' at the bottom of the page)

DECLARATION

CHRONOLOGICAL INDEX

THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

THE GREEK HOLOCAUST OF THRACE, ASIA MINOR AND PONTOS

THE NIGHT OF TERROR IN CONSTANTINOPLE

THE ISLANDS OF IMVROS AND TENEDOS

THE KURDISH DRAMA

THE PERSECUTIONS OF CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES

CYPRUS AND THE TURKISH INVASlON

EPILOGUE

http://imia.cc.duth.gr/  now lets see,  this is actually a university site "Democritus University of Thrace" , the 'cc' - stands for 'computer center' so one could assume that 'imia' is some 'idiots' site that is using the university to publish rubbish.. content which I suppose is to spread some idiotic propaganda

http://www.tallarmeniantale.com , using alias, registered at godaddy.com via domainsbyproxy, which sort of makes his story of his introduction believable, as one could assume that he'd be crucified on a burning cross for such things in the developed country that he/she lives.

The things posted on the site, although some are off, the rest can not be dismissed so easily. But I would also say that this is also a propaganda site, but I suppose that even a site with direct evidence from various countries archives would carry the label of a propaganda site.

So one site, clever person with some proof with cuttings from various news papers to proove his/her views, on the other side some wanna be university student publishing his views..

The choice is yours believe what you want to.
