You go into the waiting area of a Doctor you've never seen before.  He comes "Highly recommended".
 
You've been told that your the last patient and he''ll be out in a few minutes.  Fine, I go looking for a magazine.  Instead, I find a box containing a 88 page self published essay, by the doctor, entitled, "Why I believe the World will end on May 21st, 2011".  And this guy is serious.
It wasn't anything new, the same extremist Christian nonsense.  Revelations etc.
 
At first I was a little stunned.  My first reaction was, Gee, it's April the 30th, I don't have much time here.TongueLOL
And then my brain bottom lined it,  If this man truly believes the world will end in less than a month, what possible concern could this man have to my continued long term good health? I quietly got up and left.
 
This is one of those things to put in the "You can't make this crap up " department.

Medenaywe, I see this stuff all the time.  We get the Jeho's coming around constantly.  I think I was surprised by this because we have a tendency to think of Doctors as "enlightened".  Apparently not all of them are.

My appendix was operated on age of 9.Doctor that had done it,finished in Mental Hospital few months after.
By the way his specialities were not abdomen.Smile

I was just sitting here ruminating,Big smile I wish I'd been thinking forward enough to sneek a peek at his appointment book to see if he had any scheduled for the 22nd of May.LOL
 
And thinking more on this, he must be really serious.  If nothing happens, how does he reconcile this with his practice? Did he even consider this?

You could always test him, tell him the payment check will clear on the 22nd.
 
 
Another story on this topic a sceptic offered to buy the house of the guy in charge of the whole thing for $10,000 and promised he would only take possession on the 22nd. The organisor turned him down.
