Although a broad generalization it seem pretty true with what I know.  Korean Hwarang where known for bow specialty, Japanese initially for bow then later for sword specialty, and often heavily armored Chinese cavalry and large numbers of infantry have lances/spears.  Seems logical.

Hmmmm.  Korean also used lances extensively, next to bows of course.  I think Japan also used bows extensively, like that big bow you see on "The last Samurai".  Not sure though

With bows...China Chose the Crossbow, and japan went with the longbow...the Korean one is a composite me thinks
