Castle Hedingham

Castle Hedingham is in England. Its vast stone tower was built in approximately 1140 by Aubrey de Vere III, probably to celebrate his elevation to the earldom of Oxford.
Castle Hedingham once had four corner turrets and a forebuilding on the west face containing the first-floor entrance to the tower.
The castle remained in the de Vere family until 1703, on the demise of the 20th Earl of Oxford.

Ambras Castle

Ambras Castle is situated outside of Innsbruck, Austria.
When Archduke Ferdinand, the second son of Emperor Ferdinand I, was made sovereign of the Tyrol in 1563, he had two Italian architects to turn the existing medieval fortress into a Renaissance castle for his wife Philippine.
The Spanish Hall was built between 1569 to 1572. The long hall is dominated by the 27 full-length portraits of the princely rulers of the Tyrol.
