I call upon thee to help me with my wicked question(s)... Anyway, I'm a scriptwriter and working on a script about the Golem. (The Jewish "monster" created from clay that rampaged through Prague)

Now I am trying to keep everything as historically accurate as I possible can: dates, places, characters, dialogue - everything. So far I'd like to think I did a decent job, as I did my research I - obviously - stumbled upon Maximilian II who was both king of Bohemia (Czech Republic today) as well as the Holy Roman Emperor.

As there are several scenes involving the Emperor, my questions are:
- What kind of man was he?
- Are there any historically plausible descriptions of his personality?
- I read that in 1576, he died - my script is set in 1575, just a mere year before his death. Would he have been sickly at the time? (<--- Important) And what exactly did he die from?
- I am aware that he died in Regensburg, but where was his actual throne/court and if 'visited' in 1575 where would this, logically, have taken place? (<--- Important)

I would be ever so thankful for your help! I hope you can help a poor fellow out - it will come to great use. I've searched all over the web and asked this question many times but most people come with standard, blant and completely useles "Wiki Quotes" that are irrelevant to anything I ask. That and most are forums are either dead or the wrong crowd - so I hope you guys can help me! I look forward to your answers!

Thats the problem with scriptwirters who think that can write the scripts about things that they got no idea about. Why dont you buy a book or two and just read it? I think that there were written some biographies of the Maximilian II, emperor, king of Bohemia, king of Hungary, who also tried to become the king of Poland.
If you are not going to have deeper background about the person and his epoqe, better give up and dont write.

Yes and instead of actually trying to do something about it and giving me a proper recommendation you whine and complain about it? Very usefull indeed - pretentious much? I'm here exactly for that reason "so I can do it right" - I'm here to learn, so my question is - what are you here for? Just to show how well you know? Well you just showed - bravo.

(Sorry if I come off as aggitated, I just think this is not the way to further people and rather than bringing any positive to the table - this does the opposite.)

Maximillian was a Hapsburg, his court was probably in Vienna.

Best to check out some histories of the Holy Roman Empire/Hapsburgs.
