Yemen is one of those few places in the world, which has been mostly untouched by modern capitalism, modernization and in general westernization. It's a place where time goes by slowly. I would love to visit or even live there myself

Yemen was part of the Persian empire and it is really interesting to visit this country but unfortunately "Blind Nationalism" that you mentioned about Indians, can be seen there too, as I said in this thread: Descendants of Sassanid Persians in Yemen, according to Yemen Times: http://www.yementimes.com/DefaultDET.aspx?i=752&p=opinion&a=5 they want to deport Persians back to their homeland where from they came several centuries ago!!
