Has anyone investigated the "bonifides" of the above author? That is does he promote known biases, or other non accepted values now considered as "passe'"?

Good point, considering Barnett's works were published prior to WWII.

Hello I just chanced upon this forum while surfing on the net searching for information on some topics. Looks like a great place for discussion, so I decided to register and join in. Thank you for having created it. And I hope to enjoy my stay here.

Regarding the original post, I may not entirely agree with all of the links. But it is always interesting and entertaining to read back on retrospect of what the Europeans had to say. So also thank you for sharing them.
