...Hi…

..is it just me or do you have days where it really would have been better to have stayed in bed?..

..today has been so unproductive and non-happening that I wish I could just skip to Wednesday….

..everything I have tried to do today has been littered with problems and difficulties, accidents, and all round general bad luck…I swear to god, all of the following is true….

..for a start, I am writing this for second time as ‘Word’ has just ‘encountered a problem’ and closed down seconds before I could save it…Thumbs Down

..anyway, I had a late night last night working on some research so I thought I would try and get a lay-in this morning….not to be, at 7.30am, some workmen arrived to fit a new street lamp to the corner of the building where my home is….cue extensive drilling and grinding noises….so I got up with early morning sniffles and an all round feeling of lousiness..

….went to the fridge to get some milk for my coffee and dropped the container on the floor…the plastic container split right along the side sending approximately four pints of milk all over the floor…but get this, if it had landed on the kitchen floor which is vinyl covered it might not have been to bad….but…but…it bloody bounced first and worked its way towards the living room where it emptied the contents all over the carpet….sheesh…i gave up on the coffee…Dead

…next, I rang a local mail order company to buy some bedroom furniture, spent ages going through the order system and when it came to paying by my debit card, I was told that the payment was unauthorised by my bank????…which is weird because my funds had only gone into my bank yesterday and my card was fine on that day…I needed to go to the bank to get this sorted…

…I had to go and visit the bank so I went to get washed and changed to go out, stubbing my left big toe on the bathroom door on the way in, dropping my loaded toothbrush on the floor, bending down to pick it up, I banged my head on the bathroom sink…on the way out, I stubbed the same toe again…can you believe that..…it brought tears to my eyes second time round…OuchCry...

…before I went out the sun was shining, so I put on a light shirt and left the house, minutes into my walk into town, it started raining (mind you, this is England!!)..

..on the way to the bank I thought I would get some cash from the ATM and get a packet of cigarettes and go for quick coffee in a local café and calm down a bit……put my card into the cash machine, requested £20 and was ‘told’ by the machine that it was unable to perform this transaction…I tried three times.. no joy….and no cigarettes and no coffee…

..stormed into the local ‘bank of fascista’ and explained what had happened with my card and was told to wait to see a personal banker…and wait and wait and wait…..35 minutes later, I was ushered to see some lad in a suit who could not work out why there was a problem with my card…I was then told to wait again…..and wait…and wait….and wait….and was then left on my own for about 25 minutes until another banker came over and asked me exactly the same series of question as ‘lad in a  suit’…finally, I was told that card had been ‘flagged up’ as a possible fraud usage!!!!! And the fascista management had blocked my card from being used!!!!….even though it was quite obvious who  I was and there had been a mistake on the banks part, I still had to talk on the phone to the ‘SS Fraud Squad’ and answer a series of question about recent purchases on my account in order to ‘identify’ that I was no bloody thief!!!!..VikingViking

finally this was sorted out and I was told that my card could be used again in a ‘few’ hours….!!

..I gave up and went home…to find that my son had ‘somehow’ gotten hold of my treasured  Lord of the Rings book and had tried ‘reading it’…for reading, see ripping…Censored...

..later, I tied to order a Windows Office package which I can get with a 95% discount…..I have been waiting to do this for ages…I went all through the application process which included an authorisation of my university e-mail address…and was informed that an e-mail would be sent with a link to get an ‘authorisation code’ to purchase said copy of  Windows package…e-mail came with a link, clicked on the link and it sent me straight back to the e-mail authorisation page again…..no matter what I did I could not get into the ‘store’ or get any further with the purchase and download…I gave up at that point…Angry

…I sat down for cigarette, lit my nicotine fix, and got nothing; there was a slight hole in the cigarette that was letting out air so I was getting no satisfaction for my habit…

..to cheer myself up I went out and bought a music cd, got home went to take the cd out of the case and the jewel case broke at the hinges….Rolling Eyes

…I went for bath which was relatively painless, feeling mildly refreshed, I dried up, cleaned and rinsed the bath, went to put the foam bath bottle back and dropped it in the bath where the top came of and spilled out the blue jelly like contents all over the bottom of the bath… I left this where it was and sent many screaming curses skywards…CensoredCensoredCensored

..since then I have been sat at the computer chair where for the past 4 hours, not daring to move to do anything more strenuous or complicated than breathing…Praying

..all these things are not serous mishaps but as a collection of piddling little misfortunes and bothersome events, it has been truly a day to forget…

..all the best it has not been…AoO..

Ditto, anecdotes like these always serve to put a smile on the face of those who read them. I have had days like that too, where despite all my best logic I will wonder "am I cursed?". I think you might just have to consider today a write-off, and have hope that after a night's sleep you will have a better one tomorrow.

My day wasn't that good either.

I had thought of the best April Fools prank ever, but I didn't see anybody I could play it on.
