Perhaps if the Jonas Brothers could get out of the clutches of the Disney bubble-gum pop machine, turn up the distortion on the guitar, and get a bigger drumset, they could make some good music. I think the talent is there. But who wants to make good music when there isn't money in it?
Tokio Hotel is just plain SCARY!

System of a Down and Slipknot can at least play. Their lyrics are garbage and Slipknot's image is just plain juvenile. I think this phase of nu-metal is starting to die out, thankfully. Avenged Sevenfold are awesome musicians but need to drop the manufactured image like Slipknot.

Brings me nightmares.
As a youngster my parents would go out on most Saturday nights and leave us boys with a babysitter. Happened that the LWS took up one of three available channels. Sounds nasty doesn't it? The torture didn't end there. As you waited for the show to end you were soon greeted with Hee Haw.

Well yeah, the last Slipknot album was acceptable for me. I'm not saying that I loved it, but I liked it a little bit. At least I could call it metal. As for Rammstein, I never listened to their albums, my opinion is formed just from my encounters via music TV stations etc, which caused my loss of interest.

What do you think of Serj Tankian's (vocals of SOAD) solo act and Scars on Broadway (the band made up of the guitarist and drummer of SOAD I think they are, I know they are from SOAD) ?
|
..i have to be honest and say that i am not aware of the music.....a lot of stuff bypasses me nowadays as 'young son' takes up lots of my time and potential music buying funds!!

Well, their parody of music is not the worst thing about them, it's their fans. I've had the ''pleasure'', you'll recognise them by their unique orthography ''ur jus jelus, stop bashin on JB, Kevin 4eva, i meen im the bigest JB fan out their and im offended''.

U2!! Also Sting...I never got what was so great about them. Theeen a few whole genres, like hip-hop...but OK, let's skip what obviously is not music. Actually, I like early Bon Jovi, their songwriting was much better than most of the hair bands. But I don't get Twisted Sister and Poison for instance. Metallica is a bit overrated, too, but they were really good in the 80s. The Jonas Brothers are obviously that kind of idiots from whom everyone with at least some musical hearing gets headaches. The same about Tokio Hotel. Could anyone explain me why the hell so many like Rammstein?? Yeah and Kurt Cobain...hardly a guitarist, though worshipped by too many. And what's the deal about that who New Wave of American Metal - System of a Down, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot...?!?!

Green Day can't seem to decide if they are the Sex Pistols or the Ramones, and they are not anywhere near raw or edgey enough to be the Sex Pistols and they lack the talent and imagination of the Ramones.
Just a bunch on new generation wannabes looking for a place to wannabe.

...another good choice Cahaya, a band deemed to be soooo cool they are almost freezing...the darlings of the music media.....i mean how on earth can anybody dislike this band..eh...eh?????? ....this band and The Ting Tings are almost hallowed ground among most students at my university.....but lets face it, they have made some pretty poor noise...although i did like Street Spirit.... .. |
Come on... Admittedly radioheads new stuff is a little... 'seeya', but their older stuff is and was quality?
