In 2004, N.D. was 6-6. The last undefeated season was 1988 when Lou Holtz was there. Both Willingham and Weis had 10 win seasons, but USC and the bowl games are doing them in.
Don't misunderstand me, I like Notre Dame, but the Lady is not what she used to be. All this flip-flopping of coaches does not make for continuity, and with the media calling all shots now, you cannot have losing seasons, or even a couple of mediocre seasons, anymore.
Phillip Fulmer was a good coach for Tennessee; won a national championship (a rare event) and won 75% of his games. he goes 5-7 this year and he is out. That is a freakin' disgrace, but it is what the game has become. Media controls the money, and money controls the game.
