Which dictator in Europe was the most ruthless and merciless and created the most havoc in your opinion?

My vote goes to Lenin, as he IS heartless and loved nothing and no one. He had a utopic dream of a class-free society while at the same time he killed people of every class with histories most horrific weapons, including deliberate hunger against his own people and the minorities. His reign of terror and repression caused mass suicides in Ukraine, requisition of the Red Army, mass murders from the TSHEKAA (GPU from 1922 and then later NKVD and after that the KGB). All of those lasted for a strong 4+ years after his coming to power and were IMO the most horrific crimes of the century.

"Destroying the left-behind economy of the country-sides, hunger will objectively take us closer to our final goal, socialism, which is the following stage of capitalism."  Vladimir Iljitsh Uljanov

"Hunger will destroy the faith in the Tczar aswell as in the church." Valdimir Iljitsh Uljanov

Hello!

I agree with boody 4, and say Stalin. Lenin ruled the Soviet union for a much shorter time than Stalin did, and therefore he isn`t responsible for nearly as many lives as Stalin is.

No, Lenin... the WORST, he started and gave example to all the others including Stalin, Hitler and Pol Poth. They all took examples on the ways how to exterminate various ethnicities, torture etc. Lenin was the forefather of all the next dictators. Therefore, he took no examples pre his era and was the worse of them all as he found all of the reasons for the killings from his very own little twisted mind. I would like to believe, that if Lenin would not have slaughtered 5-6 millions or more people during his reign which itself only lasted for about 5 years, Stalin would not have had such power to start massacres again for the Com-party would not have been used to extremism like that. Lenin constructed the face of the party for the future rule of Stalin. Many party members were against Lenins atrocities but were imprisoned, shot in the back of the head or god knows what.

Well i bet someone has something oposing to say to the previous.

I don't believe no one named hitler.

I mean if u look at statistics and all that, Stalin ordered more people dead by direct and indirect action. But a lot of them died due to WWII.

Both of them were of course doing it for "greater good" (or whatever they thought was the "greater good"), but at least Stalin didn't come up with the "final solution" because one was born that way(Jew, Gypsy, Pole...).

I don't like stalin because he did bad stuffs to my own people.  But I guess hitler is bad as well.

On the way to concentration camps, he sent ppl to play instruments as if they were greeting the Jews, and they also made it apprear as station by employing the ticket method.  Also, on the way to gas chambers, his men said "Hurry, enter before the hot water gets cold, we don't have enough hot waters you know".  What a sick party.

Grrr..

I don't think we should apply a "body-count" here, who did kill more is unimportant, both Stalin and Hitler were in the same league and just because one of them did not kill as much as the other doesn't make one stand above the other...

Actually Pol Pot is the Queen of the Netherlands in disguise.

My votes goes to Stalin also.He destroyed Soviet-Turkish friendship agreement and threatened Turkiye to give a base in Istanbul-bosporos besides some lands in the eastern anatolia.

As a result,we became too American

Geesh, rider, Hitler started a war that killed 70 million people, inspired and employed "the final solution" to exterminate the whole Jewish and Gyspy population of Europe, was leading the most ruthless empire the world has seen since the Mongols, was planning on mass-murdering every Slav from Berlin to the Urals to make "lebensraum" for his ubermenschen, and you dare calling him "good" and compare him to one of the greatest people ever lived on earth, Lenin, and to Stalin, who is a frigging world hero for leading the resistance of the world against the Nazi nemesis?  Sure, Estonians worked alongside the Nazis and also were the most valued (along with the Lithuanians) concentration camp guards (a job too gross for most of the Germans... but Estonians did it with joy ) but even so, it carries it too far away.  Check this out: http://www.ce-review.org/99/16/best16_amber.html
