And how exactly do you propose this to happen? What kind of society will stop production of goods, and offering of services, and leave only production of food? This means no net, no books, no cars, no transportation, no communications, and how are people going to go to work, and what are they going to work, if there is only work for farmers and builders of shelters? What about medical research, technologies research, etc?

This cannot be done, no matter how many times you repeat it here.
If you think otherwise, please start proposing what is to be done, in practical terms, instead of repeating one and the same; like, in your country, which jobs and productions are supposed to be cut, and what are you going to do with the globalization, that, according to what I've read is building the economy of India as one of the fastest growing one?

A pure non-industrial society is not possible now because Industrialization has increased world population to 7 billion.

If we want to save the remaining environment we must minimize the things that are destroying environment.

At present we are destroying environment for Food, Clothing, Shelter plus Thousands of Industrial consumer goods and services.

We must eliminate the things that were added last to the list......which means thousands of consumer goods and services, most of which have existed for only about 100 years out of Hundreds of Thousands of years of Total Human Existence on earth .........these have to be eliminated or minimized.

The only way to save the remaining environment is by stopping Industrial Activity for production of consumer goods and services immediately........Industrial Activity must be primarily limited to food, clothing and shelter.......and even in these three fields production and consumption must be kept to the minimum.

It's humanity's destiny to use the world's resources to improve the quality of life. Where's the fun in living a miserable agrarian existence? Nature can take care of herself, and if things do go wrong in the distant future we could always colonise another planet

This has to be answered not by me but by the people who took the entire society on the wrong path of consumerism after Industrial Revolution.

It is not easy to find solutions once you have created a mess.

One can learn this lesson by looking at the solutions that "Coalition of the Willing" has been coming up with in Afghanistan.

When America attacked Afghanistan it had boasted....."We are going to smoke them out"..... Ten years later, after having tried all the permutations and combinations of solutions, it is finally holding talks with the "Good Taliban" and desperately searching for the "Exit Door".

This is what happens when people have an arrogant, optimistic, positive thinking attitude.....This is what happens when people believe they are going to fix all problems.

The problem of Afghanistan / Taliban is only a few decades old.......Environmental Crisis is millions of times bigger than this.......Billions of people have been moving in the wrong direction for almost 250 years after Industrial Revolution.

Right. So you have no practical ideas to propose, only inflammatory statements to deliver. This is very close to trolling.
And what good it is to insist on some absolutely idealistic position, with no ideas how to change whatever it is now? So, going from forum to forum, posting the same prozelityc stuff, and having no practical ideas how to achieve any improvement is not a solution to anything.
I have a maxim - If you have reasonable ideas to give, give them, if you don't, don't say anything.

Concur and it will be coming to an end shortly... if the same line of inane rhetoric; a charade under the guise of slightly different phraseology, continues here by the op.

On that you can depend. For in the case of ''arrogant, optimistic, positive thinking attitude''....types...I may or may not be one. Don't give a damn how that might be viewed by others about me. But what I am.... is able to distinguish semi-anarchic, anti-industrial, closeted, socialistic greens, propo when I see it.

So my advice to the OP.... is respond specifically to the counterpoints being offered..by the members who have contributed.... end the self imposed dissertion or find yourself in violation of the CoC for trolling as my associate notes. And I can guarantee you.. I or She will take care of that.

Moving to another planet would probably rank as the most impossible of all impossible things.

Our present planet had huge amounts of things that created and sustained all life..........Millions of species of Animals, Billions of acres of Forests, Rivers and Oceans full of water, Sky full of Air and Billions of acres of fertile soil......And remember all these life sustaining things did not come into existence in a few years......It took Nature millions of years of painstaking effort to create them.

After destroying most of the living things and most of the life sustaining things on earth which took millions of years to come into existence, it is ridiculous to talk about creating human colonies on planets where there are no animals, trees, air, water and fertile soil........And where Temperatures are very different from earth.

One Space Shuttle exploded during take off.....another exploded on the return journey......so far Man has not gone beyond the Moon, and even on this short journey of a few days man took all his supplies - food, water and oxygen from earth......there are no planets with life sustaining things within the solar system......outside the solar system planets are light years away, millions of light years away.

Just in case no one has noticed, much of this "Henny Penney" BS was taken directly from Ted Kozinski's warped and disturbed writings.  You remember him? He is usually reffered to as "the Unibomber".  Kozinski thought much the same as our friend here, except he thought that by killing the people he thought responsible for the so called environmental disaster, he could change things.

If you study the rise of man as many here have, you quickly realize that "consumerism" has been around almost as long as man.  Artifacts show that man has always quested for things other than food and shelter.
How many times have we heard "stop thinking, stop creating, the end is near".  Get yourself a sandwich sign, robe and sandals and you can get in line with the Moonies and Krishnas at the LA airport.
This person has allowed fear to rule their thinking.  Fear of the future, or the unknown.
"Arguing with someone who hates you or your ideas, is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter what move you make, your opponent will walk all over the board and scramble the pieces".
Unknown.

It's still early days. Karl Benz didn't build a turbocharged sports car and the Wright Brothers didn't build a supersonic jet. Likewise, it will take decades before we have a craft capable of reaching Mars, and a century or more before we build lunar cities. However, we might live long enough to see the first underwater city as there's a wealth of unused resources beneath the sea

The crimes of Industrial Society are millions of times greater than the crimes of Ted Kaczynski.

Military Industrial Complex has killed millions in wars.

Industrial Society has decimated millions of animal and plant species....cut down billions of acres of forests.....slaughtered trillions of animals in slaughter houses.....killed millions of acres of fertile soil with cement, concrete and asphalt......poisoned the planet with Trillions of Tonnes of Metal waste, Plastic Waste, Chemical waste, Gaseous Waste, eWaste, Nuclear Waste........decimated fish in the oceans........ created oxygen-deprived dead zones in the oceans.

Comparing the crimes of Ted Kaczynski with the crimes of Industrial Society is like comparing the lamp with the sun.
