I am surprised that YOU were so surprised LOL

But perhaps because I am Latin American, my image of American intelligence and its methods is far from idealistic. Just remember the school of the Americas, that was in practise a school of torture.

Torturing in the name of freedom has been very common. Nothing new.

Manuel Noriega was on the CIA payroll even though they did know he was a drug dealer (in fact all crimes he was convicted of took place in the time he was still a CIA employee), so this is really nothing new.

You misunderstood me.  My level of surprise when the neo-torture camps first came to light was non-existent.

And Noriega was also an outstanding student at the School of the Americas....

Now, there are many "pure" gringos corrupted by cocaine money as well. No need of being Latino for that. In fact, many of the earliest piper pilots were Americans. Americans sold night vision googles to the drugs dealears as well, and fast boats. And many American officials in ports and airports have enjoyed a pretty good retirement plans thanks to cocaine cartels.

In addition, it will take months for the right amount of appropriations to reach the coffers of the company, you can sell four tons in just uder a week and your coffers will be filled in no time.

I was thinking more in the lines of them using the drugs on their detainees to get them addicted and in order to get them to talk.

4 tons is too much for several hundred detainees.

One reason I have been mostly avoiding the current affairs forum is because it tends to be a lot of one-liners with little or no real substance.

Too much of this "news of the day" comes from places like kos.com and youtube.

Just as an exercise, I scanned a few reputable newspaper websites and could find nothing on this astounding revelation.  Maybe the artcles have already been taken down, but does anyone have anything from real news sources?

I am for the moment suspicious that all this is not what its CRACKED up to be.
