Any suggestions?

(Please do not quote Chinese sources, as none of those sources are related to the origin of the word Turk as an ethnonym. They are simply Chinese adaptations.)

The word might have an old Persian/Samskrit origin.

I don't think so...

The word Trk comes from Kk Trks.

Kk means Blue. And there are so many theory about meaning of Trk. I want to give one of them.

Trk might come from,

Tre - Tremek - Cogalmak (Increase in population)
Tremis - Cogalmis - Artmis (Increased)

In Turkish we have suffixes -ik -k -uk For example;

Git-mis = Gid-ik
Yit-mis = Yit-ik

and maybe,

Tre-mis = Tr-k

PROUD TO BE TURKMEN...
