Proto – Altaic: dore
English: to go, walk, approach

Proto – Japanese: dir (approach)
Old Japanese: yor
Modern Japanese: yor

Proto – Turkic: yori / yri (to walk)
Old Turkic: yori, yri
Modern Turkic: yri, yr, yur, zhur, yr, chr, dor, sre, sirit, hirit

Notes: An archaic opposition of two roots (with ‘d-‘ and ‘j-‘) cannot be excluded: besides a peculiar variation ‘yori-/ yri-‘ in Proto - Turkic note also the tonal mismatch between Proto - Turkic ‘dur-‘ and Proto – Japanese ‘dir-‘.
