Yes I was picturing a modified bench press on the ground . Very kool. 

So this sounds like an isometric movement . When I started training I wouldn't hold the weight during reps , now as part of my programme I hold the weight for some seconds. It does become demanding after a few reps.

Thanks for the exercise description . I will include something like this as an alternative to a conventional bench press.

yes isometric...be wary constricting your abs until you have worked up to it.
