Good find CV - amazing creature - and as big as a bus.
Who knows what else is down there. Basically we know less than little about the deep seas.

Sadly, we have yet to capture the giant squid. Seen some dead ones in the internet. No wonder the Explorers were terrified.

 

And of course, Japanese fishing boats have yet to awaken Godzilla.

agree with both of you and was equaly sadened by it's loss....amazingly beautiful creature that remains a mysterious component of our world.
 
hopefully the marine bioligists and others examing it will shed light on it's habitat and activities so that in the future our technology might observe them in nature vs. the untimely demise in a fishing net.
