Upcoming Khara Khitai book

An interesting new book about the Khrara Khitai empire is due out soon. Anyone interested should keep an eye out. The book will be called:

The Empire of the Qara Khitai in Eurasian History : Between China and the Islamic World
by Michal Biran, David Morgan

According to Amazon.com it's due out June 30th (in the US). Should be interesting.

The book is excellent,   Biran is very good, all her books are well worth buying.
nb. David is the series editor, not a co-author.

By the stage the Mongols arrived the state had virtually collapsed.  The book is a general history so doen't go into great detail on campaigns etc (Bartold give you that).

As with the Quidan kingdom the Quidan troops rapidly assimilated with the Mongols (remember 18,000 QuaraKhitai troops had joined the Mongols in 1211 for the attack on the Jin).  The subject Quangli Turks also became enthusiastic "Mongols" (quite large numbers of these were later relocated to Manchuria, to become elite troops for the Yuan).
