We all wish him the best in the future and hope he drops by now and then to say Hi. The large whole left by Imperator will now be filled by a team of web geniuses headed by Northman as Webmaster and backed up by Cyrus, Hugoest and Omar al Hashim.

On the mod front we have two new lady mods taking care of the Women in History forum and other things - welcome to Mortica and Aelfgifu . Good luck ladies and have fun.

Community News

January saw the running of the latest addition of Total Quiz . If you thought that it was hard before the mods for Total Quiz made it a little harder still. They removed the authorship of the questions. So there is no more chance of gaining a clue to the answer by knowing who wrote the question. The quiz was run excellent as usual. Many thanks to Imperator Invictus, Poirot and the New addition Northman for a great Quiz. Now to the big news- the winner of Total Quiz Was ..... Decebal

With a tie for second between the young Aussie Team of Knights/Preator and Dawn

Did you know that as of this quiz Decebal is tied for the most number of Total Quiz wins at 5 titles.Thats quite the feat. Rumor has it that the great champion Decebal will be joining the TQ Moderating team next time out.We wish him luck and look forward to him continuing the great quizzes in the future.

Thanks to all who participated.

There has been some talk that the quizzes are to difficult and too far apart. Also at the same time there has been some talk of a tournament of Champs. To address these situations we have some things in the works. Stay tuned for further developments.

In the near future you will see a change on the forum - we will be adding a new forum to promote the discussion of natural history. Keep on the look out for it.

Choose Your Honorary Title! What has become know as the Zagrosian title. Keep your eye open for these fun titles honoring our long time contributing members.

The Main Site

When was the last time any of you took a look around the Main site? It is really well done and changes often. You should have a peek. We are looking at ways to make it even better if you have suggestions or want to be involved Pm Dawn or Northman. All ideas are welcome.

On the topic of Ideas - we are also looking for ideas to promote the Main site, forum and Magazine if you have thoughts please PM Dawn

As promised Issue 11 of AE magazine was great nice work guys and gals

One the occasion of the 12 issue of AE magazine I asked for a little something to commemorate it. I received this wonderful piece from Hugoestr on the development of the Mag. Thanks Hugoestr

A year ago All Empires started publishing its online history magazine. The magazine started as an idea that was bounced around among Dawn, Invictus, and me [Hugoestr], around late October or early November of 2005. The main goal for the magazine was to increase the number of historical articles for the main site; or, as Invictus said, "To bring back the focus of history into the history forum." This goal has been accomplished. The magazine has published XXX issues. Each issue has between 3 to 10 new articles that build up our main site. Invictus, as always, did a huge amount of the work. He designed the graphic look for the magazine, he wrote articles, and got the software ready for the magazine. Paul quickly took editorial control from the second issue of the magazine, and he still plays a very important role in getting it published each month. Early on, Emperor Barbarossa, and Rider were active writers, so they were quickly invited to participate as editors. Paul has done an excellent job at finding great talent and inviting them to work with the magazine. Paul has invited most of people the who are currently active into the magazine. So he has brought Shaun to do special assignments and Morticia to help edit and proofread the magazine. And of course, we have the many writers that have contributed articles, and whose work create each issue of the magazine. There is a huge amount of work that goes into creating the magazine. We must remember that this is a volunteer effort, which makes it especially challenging to be able to publish the magazine on a regular basis. However, thanks to the organizational skills of our active editors, AE has been able to publish the magazine in a periodical manner. This is a testament to the excellent organizational skills and hard work of our active editors.

Look for the new issue of the Magazine available soon. This time around I'm told the magazine will be much larger than in the past containing many more articles and new features. Hats off to all the hard working editors.
