Azad come from Azta (Avestan and Old Persian ) and means free, freeman.

arshama....quite a beautiful word in my mind. I think, if i recall correctly, i first came across it, while a graduate student many years ago...but it was and still seems quite remarkable to me.

 Alaeddin Keykhoubad was a  seljuki shah, seljuks choosed very good names if I look up to.

Anyway i'll continiue,

-Firuze, Piruze (also used as girl name)

Ferdus is Persian version of Firdevs.

Pirouz is persian name for boys and Firouzeh is for girls.

Well there are three names I like which is why I have given them to my children
1st Daryoush after my father
2nd Leila ( Arabic name but used by Iranians) Means Nocturnal
3rd Kayhan - Means world

There are lots of names I like. But I really do like Daryoush, Leila and Kayhan

I know Leila is an Arabic name but lots or Iranians use it and it is a beautiful name.

Kiyan or Kian same meanning as Shahanshah (king of the kings) sounds powerful.

As far as the name Leila or Layla, I am not sure if originated from Iran or Arab countries assuming that Iranian (persian)kingdom was huge at one point. If some one have a reliable historical backgroung, please don't hesitate to share (wikipedia doesn't count).
