Babur could nto recover his central Asian habitat or Samarkand so he went to Kabul and then to India. WHo was it that forced him to flee east though?

yes but he was kicked out of Samaraknd by a rival faction, or maybe failed to retake it from teh Ozbegs, it what Im trying to find out.

To sum it up, he lost it due to a revolt amongst the noblemen, and his
soldiers deserted him, then he regained it, then lost it again to the Ozbegs, and
captured Kabul instead.

When Timur's empire broke up, one branch of it started ruling Ferghana. IIRC, Babur comes from these Ferghana rulers, but his mother was a descendent or a relative of Chinggis Kha'an.
