All of them
Yeap yeap, I always thought Taizu was almost the equivlent of "great king" Not exactly Da Wang, but close enough...
Wanna verify that?

My understanding is that Tai-zu is merely a temple name which means an ancestor... and inaugurating ancestor.
although 'tai' also mean mighty, but I think in taizu it means the earliest forefather
also I wanna ask
isn't da-wang or equivalent in korean language is a general title for the kings rather than describing mightiness?
of course da-wang means mighty king but all king would properly be regarded mighty, so it means nothing to its mightiness but rather a general title. you know what i mean?
eg Jungjung also revered as Jungjung da-wang? (the drama Dae Chang-kum is very heat these days)

Dawang, or Daewang in Korean, is usually reserved for kings who were really great.
This list of kings include Sejong Daewang.
Gwanggaeto was a Taewang.

No the Hanzi for Tae in Taewang, is the same Hanzi for Tai in Taizu.
Other Daewang's? I'm not sure. I'll look into that for you.

I consider Boleslaw Chrobry definately as a "great". Officially only Kazimierz III is recognized as great but if it was up to me Boleslaw Chrobry would be a Great as well as Kazimierz Jagiellonczyk. And one more that I think s the most recent great...John Paul the Great

To us, he'll always be Philip II, the Wise Guy.
Either way, I believe it was Philip IV, not II, who had the epithet "great".

For Cyrus' list of all the greats. Reza Shah Pahlavi is not truly considered the great. But this may vary in opinion. In certain books, mostly those written during the Jomhuri Islami-e-Iran, Reza Shah Pahlavi wasn't considered a great king.

He was rather unpopular in Poland, because he favoured his hungarian subject, and ceded some disputed territory from Poland to Hungary. On the other hand he was a great ruler of Hungary. Under his rule Hungary was one of the major powers in Europe. He waged succesful wars, he was incredibly rich, he was a heroic knight-king, he founded the first university, and created the first fleet etc. There is a saying that under his rule three seas bordered the realm. (By the way this is not true: the shore of the Black Sea belonged to the vlach voivodates. Theys were the king's vassal, but never the part of his realm. And the shore of Baltic Sea that time do not belonged to Poland.)

There is anorther "great " Hungarian king: B幨a III. But his epithet changed after the middle ages: he became B幨a the Greek. (Because one time he was the appointed heir of the byzantine throne.)

Mstislav I Vladimirovich was the Grand Prince of Kiev from 1125 to 1132. He was known as Mstislav the Great.
