Topic: Can we get ALL the flags? Posted: 15-Dec-2004 at 13:35 |
I tried to pull up some info on them that better explains it,but could not find any on the net.
|
That's ok I understand what they are now, I mean it's ok if I don't know what they are (I don't watch speed skating) but an olympic committee of a nation should know these things.
BTW that is sad.

I recently found a flag for the Dominican Republic.Perhaps you can use it.

All that needs to be done,is to make it smaller..

Is it possible to have a more extensive flag database. I would have like a burgundy flag, I think it's more exotic than a french flag, although I'm from normandy originally.

I've seen that Christscrusader has alot of topics that are still in use, but he himself is banned. Looks like some good was done, but why aren't his topics closed too then?

I think adding some old, even ancient flags, "sancak"s and symbols will be perfect. What about the Seljuk flag, or KAZAKHSTAN flag?

Old flags is an excellent idea, but the list of locations would have to be modified too. Can that be done? Admins?

I'm sorry, but I don't think we should be recognizing break away countries which no other country recognizes(like in this case, only turkey). We should be promoting a peaceful Cyprus, and the flag only shows more seperation for a fake nation. Its not even its own country, North Cyprus is a wanna be break away nation.

Excuse me, lastbout! The unified Republic of Cyprus that you so wish for only had 3 years of relative peace since its independence from the British (1960-63).
If you look at the facts you will know that the Turkish Cypriots had to struggle with great hardships due to Greek Cypriot fascism, all right to be fair not all Greek Cypriots were racist but many were. Terrorist organisations such as EOKA and EOKA-B killed and terrorised many Turks, in order to gain HELLAS (unification with Greece). These terrorist groups eventually were successful in making the Turks be confined to only 3% of Cyprus under UN protection. Someone who was meant to promote peace, Archbishop Makarios, actually encouraged this policy. The Turks had to endure this hardship for 11 years (1963-74), until Turkey came to save the Turkish Cypriots by allowing the Turkish Cypriots to govern one third of Cyprus.
chemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />> >
In conclusion, the Turkish Cypriots have seen Cyprus as there home since 1571, their language, ethnicity, culture and religion is different to that of the Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots had to endure 11 years of terrorism under the unified republic of Cyprus. This is why there is a TRNC.
Turkish Cypriots have been independent from the Greek Cypriots for 31 years, is it not time for the embargoes to be lifted? Is it not time for the world to recognize us?

Agreed..it is the time for one to keep in mind that it was the Turkish Cypriots who voted for the unification while at the same time the greek cypriots heavily voted for NO.
But yet The Turkish Cypriots are asked to use the same flag used by the Greek cypriots...would it not be unjust after all?

no-one asks them to use the same flag used by Greeks Cypriots, they can pick any flag they like (like the Turkish one).
Nevertheless I think adding historical and breakaway flags is fine. But
I don't think we'll able to find much animated historical and breakaway
flags, so if we use non-animated, we'd better change the non-historical
and breakaway to non-animated flags as well.

So hold on... breakaway flags will be alowed, yet state flags are not? Can someone explain the reasoning of this to me?
Also, if breakaway flags are allowed, can I get one of the flags that represented the Confederate States of America?
