We all have our dates and opinions on when the Roman Empire and her glory has died. We then transfer everything to new players on the field and history continues...

But Rome's legacy never died, and therefore in a sense she still lives on. Her contributions not only to the west, but to humanity is still with us as her technology, politics, and laws are still being used today. Some might even say that the Church still held up the last powers of Rome. The eternal city is regognized and if never forgoten...she will always be alive

Because of Roman civil law (which is still used all over the world) and also because of Catholic Church (for example the provinces of church come from the provinces of Roman empire).

Yes, Rome has always existed, even within all of the major European languages we can see much Latin influence. Besides modern language, modern religion(Catholicism is the most widely followed sect of Christianity, with over 1 billion followers), modern architecture, and modern city-planning have been highly influenced by the old Roman Empire.
