Career as history professor?

I'd like to teach history when I get older and I have some questions...
 
 
What would it take to teach history? 
 
 
What would it take to be a professor? 
 
I'm interested in Medieval History more than anything.

In order to teach history you must know history. Teaching should not be done half assed, so if you want your students to do their homework you should do yours.

If you want to be a great history teacher, have a passion for it, almost to the point of obsession(not saying that obsession is good, but you get the general idea).

Also, have faith in your students who may not care so much about the subject. The only thing you can do as a teacher is introduce and go through the past, the rest is up to them.

Okay. I think that's it. I wish I was back at school now, I don't like summer vacation anymore.

Well,  I made this topic because i didn't have a lot of time to get on the internet to do research.  My brother was on it all day.  Once he starts something,  he takes forever to finish.
 
I'm going to search for what I'd need now.
