So, Centrix V., have you been in a military prison for the last three or so years?
Glad to see you are out and posting again!
Regards,

No I have not. And where you got that idea is beyond me.. As that comment might be inferred as not only insulting but inflammatory.
But as I will assume you did not mean it in such a fashion, I will respond.
I did serve in the US military for many a year....and part of what I did was force modernization and analysis as an Operations officer. As a training and liason officer; I then instructed trainers to be trainers and students who were assigned to my higher command in Air-Land- joint operations....specifically integrated Attack/Recon helicopter operations....CAS... Indirect fires and as required Naval gunfire. I also interacted with a number of allied forces in the same capacity.
As I noted that was part of what I did. My affection for the Title thread should then become obvious.

A force mod long over due? many believe it.
It's more probable then the counter which generally revolves around concerns of 'escalating arms races.....' a term more applicable to the early later half of the 20th ce. when the world's realpolitik agenda was quite different.
Those in the know have wondered for a while now; why given it's resources and alliances and re-emergence as a signficant world player it hadn't already occurred. The answer to that lie partially, in the Russian economies re-organisation (and governmental retaking of control of that in part) and or as much as the last of the covert die-hard communist ideaologists that yet remain with signficant influence..... pressing for RDA and modernization....which had been their usual method. And also as usual it sends a message.

I still want to know where they are going to get the advanced diesel submarines that they need as a minimum deterant. I last heard that the Taiwanese needed four. That number has probably grown to six or more.

U.S. Army, Navy Near JHSV Deal
For those confused with why the Army would have had ships.... it's because 'a' mission of the US Army Transportation Corp requires an ability to move intra-regionaly upon waterways of the interior of a country and not the approach by sea to a specicifc port or country.
Consequently the purchase of these ships would have required a training, maning and maint requirements and additions to their budget that already exsists in the Navy...that will probably recieve additonional funding but no mega millions in 'start-up' funding.

That' typical of forcemod RDA anywhere and leads either to upgrades and modifications based on stolen or developed tech and cost overrides in either case.
When it's no longer worth the cost...it's usally upgrades not new production. Similar bugs encountered by the US Navy delayed SLTomahawks years ago for example.

Mace is supersonic intercontinental missile that has problem within,it's speed! It is three stage projectile and speed makes it so fast that is needed, fast separation of stages.Until this is not achieved, precision will fail!I agree you need long testing and developing time for new technology gadgets that cost tax payers, billions of dollars.

Indian Air Force Orders 65 HAL Light Combat Helicopters for USD 1.4 billion
Not suprised as the Indian Df mods and upgrade have continued for several years. Given the always struggle between cost analysis, RDA and final production their move to LCH's is predictable. It's a good unit with capabilities as noted that serve their long range needs better then more costly heavy attack birds...at this point.

Numbers wize this is still apt from potential probablities.... but modest gains in Logpac vessels and continued upgrades still give the US the edge...in quality and C2/3.
A bit dated ntl it's apt analysis.

A New Nuc Pact ?
British Minister Advocates British-French Nuclear DeterrentAs much budgetary fiscal good sense.... Or is there a silent admission that with the Russian and PRC force mod upgrades ongoing; not to mention a a real time nuc threat from the Iranians within the next 36 months, that these two old war dogs make common cause beyond NATO. Can't say yet. But will watch. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php...34&c=SEA&s=TOP

Russia Delivers Two Combat Helicopters To Peru
Well that should do the job assuming the smugglers haven't got or won't get the means to knock them from the sky. But only two? Not even enough to form a wing. What do you do for rotational scheduling when one is down? hmmm. http://www.defencetalk.com/russia-de...to-peru-33358/
