Yes, and Chinese spies all the way up in NASA. Another scary thing is, most of our computer chips are made in China and used by Western intelligence agencies. Who knows what information they are sending back to China? Or at the least, it would make those computers easier to hack by the Chinese.

That and, as stated, hacking various defense sub contractors over the past 18 months or so has led to this current sitrep.

The Indian Navy is Pressing for Foreign Construction of Next Generation Submarines That they had virtually no national based existence infrastructure/facilities for primary construction remains a inherent problem for self-development and cost control of this aspect of their ongoing upgrades. This is however being worked on and the interim solution, even though it will force movements of ready capital assets into the market, is not unexpected.

No F35 offer for IndiaI find this interesting for a lot of reasons considering the motivation of the defense industry and the DoD. Not to mention the market and the implications from a political standpoint. But it's early and there is insufficient data to draw much of a conclusion other then speculative. So I will watch and see. Otoh, The response from the DoD in the attached article seems curious and does not reflect the 'what had been ongoing efforts' to virtually automatically offer tech and sales to India as a counterbalance to the PRC and the Pakistanis.
