As one of the largest castles in the world, the ancient castle of Rudkhan occupies an area of about 5 hectares and sits at the two peaks of a mountain at elevations of 715 and 670 meters and is fortified by strong fortifications and battlements at a length of 1,550 meters and consists of 65 towers.

After crossing a mountainous winding route and passing dense and very beautiful jungles, the first thing that the traveler discovers is the castle's big entrance gate which is grand and huge. The entrance gate is set on the northern wing of the castle and is composed of a gate and two towers on its two sides.

Though being threatened and even partly eroded by excessive humidity and vegetations rooting in the chinks of its old but lofty walls, Rudkhan castle is still in very good condition as compared to other castles of the same era.
