Here is how you can join the channel:

1.) Download mIRC for free!

You can find the installation program right here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html

2.) Install and start mIRC.

3.) Enter you nickname, e-mail addy etc.

4.) Connect to the server GameSurge, Random Server.

All you have to do is to click on the "File" bottom at the top. Then go on "Select Server" and choose "Game Surge: Random Server". At the end click on "Connect To Server".

5.) Join the SMQ channel.

Click on "Favorites" at the top and then on "Organize Favorites". Enter "#SMQ.history" and join the channel.

6.) Participate!

As for me IRC is one of the best and most convient messengers for extensive communities like we are. You don't have to pay (even after those 30 days the prog mentions at the beginning expire ), you don't need a good pc for this prog and you don't need broadband internet. You can just run the program in the background when your pc is on and check out what's going on when you get a free minute.
