Hi every one i just joined and spotted the question:
What I'd like to discuss is whether the October 1917 Bolshevik Revolution was a Revolution with a popular front or was it a Coup without any real support.
it seems you guys have moved kind-off of this topic but any way i feel, the october revolution was undoubtedly a planned coup d'etait, in the sense that it was organise by a small group of people - th leadership of the Bolshevik party, aidedby the petrograd garisson and the baltic fleet and it was deliberatley designed to overthrow the existing provisional government. Because yes, the people of Russia didn't realy like the provisional government. Why? perhaps the fact that it had a very big Bougeoise element which seems to be quite prominent in russian governments. So in that sense the people were against the provisional government becuase they ha to work long hours and create barley enough revenue either to feed or pay for food for there family. with this in mind the technically it was supported but i think a question which i have found quite intersting and this is a good discussion topic. so here it goes.
Why do you think that Lenin called for a second revolution while the bolshevik were opposed to lennins calling of the second revolution?
