Yes, dear now adays I am living in Kandahar (my home province), well the situation inside the city is not that bad as it's shown by media, only it's getting worse in out skirts of Kandahar province. And as far as I know I don't think any Afghan would fell something new with such situations because we have been experienceing such situations since our history has began (The Persian Rule, Alexander, Mongols, Indians, British, Russians and now America along his friends).
So now we have got used to these situations and don't fell any sort of a change.

You sound so zen about it. Are you a bouddic monk? Well, anyway, happy to learn the situation is not that bad. One more question though: could you use the internet under taliban rule? (sorry for the inquiry but you're the only afghan connection I have). M.

Dear Maharbbal, First of all I don't know how I sounded so zen but any way I ain't a budhic monk but just an ordinary Muslim with strong faith (as far as I know).
Secondly I really am glad to answer to some questions as I really like to ask alot of question so when I am asked I try my best to answer them as well so you asked about "the Internet during Taliban".
The answer is, during the control of Taliban (or even before Taliban during the civil war) almost all of the telephone lines where distroyed so Afghanistan really didn't have any tele-communication system (in-fact it's still a rare resource) and we also didn't had enough technologies (relating computers and internet) so there was no concept of Internet or any online information.
But in late 1999 and 2000 Pakistan provided speciall telephone numbers to Afghanistan while Kabul and Jalalabad was given the area code of Peshawar Pakistan (0092-91-XXXXXX) and Kandahar of Quetta Pakistan (0092-81-XXXXXX), and with the IT revelotion in Pakistan some HIGH rank officials and ministries were able to access Internet through Dailup connections but no use of it by civilians.
So the lates boom of IT has came during 2003-NOW.
I wish I have answered you correctly and in case of any further question I am always here.
