Just to share with you my favourite archaeological and anthropological museum, the "Pitt Rivers Museum" in Oxford,England.
A magical place, when I visited last time it had still not been touched by the museums-paedagogical revolution ( hands-on and all that....), but was an incredible treasure trove full of cramped vitrines, the ethnological and archaeological collections of an 19th English army officer.
It has preserved much of its Victorian ambience, and on a dark winter's night just before closing time, when nobody else is around, it is incredibly atmospheric, gloomy and distinctively gothic.
