I'd thought you would just visit Istanbul. It looks like you had a precious trip

Thanks it was beautiful, Central and Eastern Turkey is so amazing but sadly overlooked and neglected by tourism. The standards of food, architecture, food, arts is very high and people are very kind and generous. Hopefully Turkey will focus more on cultural and historical tourism and open this area up more.

Hate is not the answer and solves nothing, what do you think the purpose of PKK Terrorism is? It is to try and cause hatred and division between the ordinary Turk and Kurd. Why? because Turks and Kurds live in the same towns same villages same street even share the same table, marry each other, work with each other, go to mosque together......

In an environment like this the average Kurd and Turk has no problem, only extremists and radicalists have problems and these are a small minority. For example even Turkish Nationalist Party MHP calls Kurds brothers and has Kurdish representatives.

Ofcourse the fact that the average Turk and Kurd have no problem makes PKK Terrorists mad, they hate this fact and so do anything to create hatred even killing innocent kids, woman even Kurds. But the Turkish and Kurdish socities never have divided and started fighting against each other. These days Pkk is getting more and more desperate, its involved in drug, human, prostitution trafficing and all other criminal acts and because it cannot attract many members anymore they kidnap children when theyre very young and brainwash them in mountains making them child soldiers. They are even fighting each other now and debating about the divinity of their jailed Terrorist leader.

The key is not to hate, what destroys PKK Terrorism is LOVE and BROTHERHOOD, a marriage between a Turk and Kurd, friendship between Turks and Kurds is the biggest weapon that can be used against these shamefull inhumane scumbag animals actually what crimes have animals comitted comparing them to an animal is an insult to animals they are rotten.

PKK Terrorism will destroy itself aslong as Turkish and Kurdish society carries on mixing and living side by side, the anti-Kurdish propoganda is bad and should be dismissed Kurds are generally very nice people as are Turks. Those Turks who try to get Turks to hate all Kurds indiscriminately are Pkk in disguise no matter how much they'd like people to believe they;re hard nationalists, real Nationalists love the whole country and all its people!

Very well said, Bulldog. I fully agree with you. Nobody has the right to generalize and attribute the actions of few PKK terrorist scum to all ordinary hard-working law-abiding Turkish citizens of Kurdish origin.

Yeah, as long as a Kurd calls himself a Turk then he's good citizen. What a joke...

If someone feels that they are Kurdish, if they speak Kurdish as a mother language then ofcourse they are Kurdish. This shouldn't be percieved as a problem or issue, we must accept people for what they are not what we'd like them to be. If somebody calls him/herself a Kurd show the same respect as if someone called a Turk, this is the best way to defeat tension. Ofcourse there are bad Kurds but also bad Turks, the average Kurd is
living just like a Turk, providing for the family, worrying about the childrens education,
job prospects etc etc

There is nothing wrong with being an Ulkucu, there is a problem though if
someone is ignorant. An intellectual, educated Ulkucu who wants to try help
and benefit all the nation is a positive thing. Encouraging the culture, music,
arts, cuisine, historical knowledge, legends, of the nation is a great thing as
that is your identity and something to treasure. BUT this gives no room or
excuse to be a Biggot and put other people down or feel superior to others.

Yes, I visited some "Korucu" large families, they are very attached to the state and very kind and hospitable.

As a nationalist,ı lave my nation,ı love my motherland but most of kurdish people wants my motherland's to southeast to build a new kurdistan in anatolia. You can see them on newroz, huge and huge numbers...

How do you know its most? which statistics support this claim? this is exactly what PKK Terrorist Org would like you to believe, the like to pretend that they represent Kurds and all Kurds want what they want. Tell me how many Kurds are Marxist, hate Islam, hate all Turks, Arabs, Persians, worship idols, want to live in a radical Marxist state, leave the rest of Turkey to live in the mountains? There are more Kurds in Istanbul than most of the South East. You think areas like GaziAntep,KahramanMaras, Elazig, Malatya, SanliUrfa, Hatay etc etc can ever join such a state, the majority in these areas are not even Kurds there are more Kurds in Western Turkey than those areas. The Nationalist leader Bahceli is from the Turkmen tribes of Osmaniye in the South East, its one of the most nationalist places everyone has the moon moustacheWink

Recently a survey taken by independant researchers was taken, 91.8% of people are proud of being a part of Turkey. The issue with Kurds is more a civil rights problem. The Kurds of future generations are growing up in a more free and relaxed Turkey, they can speak Kurdish openly, learn Kurdish, watch Kurdish Tv, listen to Kurdish music. This isn't a threat, if it was banned they would listen to it illegally anyway and at the same time hate the TUrkish state. Now however, they can feel less grief-anger and be less susceptible to the lies and propoganda of Pkk. If the Turkish state permitts Kurds to do as they like aslong as they abide by the laws like all other citizens you know who looses mosts? PKK TERRORISM DOES! Pkk Terrorism hates what's happening today in Turkey, they always believed that the state would never relax the laws and do reforms. So Pkk starts its terrorism again, the reason is to make the state take away the rights of Kurds, to cause tension, to make Turks hate Kurds THIS IS THEIR AIM! They want especially to provoke the nationalists but Devlet Bahceli is a smart leader he saw their game and specifically told the Ulkucu not to respond. This ofcourse wounds Pkk Terrorism even more. The way to defeat these Terrorists is not by hate or indiscriminate attacks against Kurds, its to not be provoked, build bridges with Kurds and show them Pkk is the enemy of all the people. Let the Special Services and Army destroy the actual Pkk hideouts and targets.

Look what Pkk do today, they loot Diyarbekir and smash shops of Kurds who don't put their posters up, they are loosing support and crumbling in the current environment.

This site is interesting, Kurds whose identity is not supressed are proud and love Turkey and are nationalists for Turkey.

What worser thing could there be for Pkk, its worse than any physical weaponWink

I thought Kurdish-Turkish related topics are banned here. This thread has become a bash PKK thread.

So, either you close it or I'll start talking too.

Pkk is an Internationally Recognised Terrorist Organisation, it should be bashed and bashed, how would you feel if we all started getting emotional over people bashing the Taliban huh.

There must be no sympathy for Terrorism, support and propoganda for Pkk Terrorism is Illegal so if you start talking about the virtues of Lord Apo your ISP will be tracked and reported to anti-Terror authorities.

PKK is a reponse to Turkish politics in the 70-ties and 80-ties.

Some say Turkey is a terrorist regime other say that PKK is a terrorist organization. Someone is your freedom fighter and some are terrorists.

There must be no sympathy for Terrorism, I agree. Same goes for state-terrorism too, don't you agree?

You think it's funny to be called Mountain-Turk? It's the same when a black person is being called Nigger.

But, things have changed, and I'm happy for that. I hope Turkey will grant Kurds more cultural rights, and I'm hopefull.

Excuse me but this is nonsensical propaganda not because it is not true, but because you ignore the other side of the coinl. Do not get me wrong, my aunt had to work in the South-East as a teacher under the constant fear that the PKK would bomb their school or would throw a suicide bomber in their midst. But the actions of the PKK do not in any way , shape or form justify the actions of the TUrkish state against its own citizens of Kurdish orign.

The 30.000 figure you quote, represents not only those murdered by the  PKK, but also those killed by the Turkish security forces. The Turkish security forces have comitted many extrajudicial killings, among them the murder of a 12 year old kid. He was brutally murdered together with his father at close range a year ago by the security forces. The claim was that he was a "terrorist". Really? A 12 year old kid a terrorists.

You can bet now that his mother and other relatives are fervent PKK supporters. How are they to trust the TUrkish state any more? THe representative of that state murdered their son and husband wirthout any apparent reason, the army that was supposed to protect them as Turkish citizen, insrtead turned on them and murdfered them. The Turkish state has so far failed on its basic duty to bring justice and those responsible for his murder are stilll free.

Come on Cent,

the PKK is unanimously recognized as a terrorist organization around the world. Who claims that Turkey is a terrorist regime? Surely the Turkish Republic needs to improve its record, and in order to achieve that she needs your help as well.

I am disappointed out how you call the PKK freedom fighters. How can one fight for freedom through suicide bombs, by killing teachers, by blowing up tourists.

The PKK and their supporters are nothing more than terrorists scum and all of them deserve the severest punishment. I support the human and democratic rights of Kurds, but when it comes to terrorists the Turkish Republic should be uncompromising and unforgiving. I hope that Turkey enters Northern Iraq to uproot the PKK once and finally, and prevent the Kurdish regime there from harboring terrorism.  The recent bomb attacks that ruptured through Turkey's tourist resorts, and killed as many Brits as Turks, were all manufactured in Northern Iraq.

Their cause is whats important. To establish a Kurdish nation.

I support their cause.

BUT, I hate when they commit things like suicide bombings or kill innocent  people. That is not the right way.

Man I could say "My cause is to create a Kurdish Nation" and go around killing kids, woman and teachers, blowing up tourists, getting rich off the drug and human trade, make Kurds pay me taxes, rob Kurdish peasents and then say, hey I'm doing all this for Kurds. What exactly has Pkk Terrorism achieved? nothing but death, destruction and helping to impovrish Kurds and Turks.

What do you understand by establishing a Kurdish nation?

The PKK ideology is Marxist-Lenninist and its cause is to establish an ethnically pure Kurdish state for Kurds only.

Do you agree with that cause?
