I'm sorry my geological knowledge is not that good, but u mean inner mongolians? They might have different face, but not like difference between Mongol face and Chinese face?(or Han face i should say) . I think that people who say mongols uighhurs and tibetans are one nation along with China(han), they better start proving it from Tibets first, and then like Uighurs , Kazakhs, and Mongols.. More on, Mongols have very different culture and language than Han chinese, but the Northern chinese people u mentioned should have similiar with Han chinese... peace |

No. I mean Hans in Northern China provinces(usually those places north of the Yangzte River), and hans people in southern China(south of the Yangzte River), they have different customs,eating different food,(Northern han may eat noodles and Chinese bun(made by flour , steamed), southern hans eating rice.

First of all, I am very happy that you, Tommy and others
both in the Republic of Mongolia and China enjoyed the CK miniseries. The theme song of the movie is very touching indeed. But what touched me most throughout the movie was that CK was combined his iron goal driven determination with great humanity. This aspect Westerners , like myself find it quite hard to understand. . Keen memory . Big heart like the eternal blue sky. Most commendable is the way he treated his best friend Jamuqa. . Sharp and clear observations . Keen eye for talent . No bias or hatred It is no surprise that so many , irregardless of their nationality, race or creed, flocked to his standard. I was told a new miniseries on his famous grandson Kublai is in the making. r's Clive |

btw, i didn't like the clothes used in the movie. "Wilder" than the real one at that time... and in fact this movie is about chingez khaan's life, not the invasion of mongols into europe |

The miniseries may have it's flaws but I think the theme of it is excellent. Westerners like myself used to brand CK as an arrogant aggressor, but after watching the miniseries, I now agree 100% with my wife Baadema, that CK is more of a prophet sent by Heaven to pacify, unify, and integrate a world in perpetual conflict in the 12th century. I agree that it is not a miniseries about the Mongol invasion of Europe. Are you from Ulan Bataar? I used to do peace corps work there. best regards Clive |

I have seen very good doc-dramas on TV but I think most of you or even all are from the states right??? here in UK they have shown quite a few doc-dramas on Mongols and GK...they all had real Mongol cast and the doc-dramas were in Mongolian with English subtitles...it felt weird watching that in Mongolian on BBC

I saw the BBC version of CK, but I still think

No plans yet, my wife and I are very busy this summer.
I love UB, so does Baadema. Steve Segal dropped his plans for CK movie. He too, saw the CK miniseries, as well as two CK movies, one from China the other from Mongolia, he admitted that he was quite out of place to play Khaan. He enjoyed the CK miniseries most , but also gave credit to the two movies on CK. r's Clive |

There was also a movie called Genghis Khan that starred Omar Sharif as Temujin. This movie was even worse than the John Wayne movie. It didn't even try to follow historical facts. Another old Soviet movie called Ilya Muromets (aka the Sword and the Dragon) featured Russians battling very Mongol-like barbarians called Tugars. As bad as the movie was at least the Russians had the sense to cast Asian actors for the Mongol roles. That's more than you can say for the American films. Edited by Snafu |
