LOL, many good memories. No regrets.

It's a little shocking how few people these days actually go back to the primary sources and just rely on the generalisations of secondary sources instead. I was waiting for someone else to interject some evidence, but no one did. And Tacitus is one of the better known and well read of the Roman classical authors, too. Inspite of the fact he thinks all women are compulsive poisoners, he is an interesting read. I'm sure you will find that quote useful, I bet you've already entered it into a word file along with the exact source details .

 I also share your affinity for primary sources, especially since so much of history nowadays is falling prey to some harmful new-age (for lack of a better term) trends. I'd much rather read St. Basil's Hexaemeron than read a two-hundred page book written by some rabid feminist about how Basil was a horrible misogynist with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
