I am seeking books on the Vikings, I have a copies of Viking Age Iceland by Jesse Byock and A History of the Vikings by Gwyn Jones.

Other titles I am seeking out are The Viking Achievement by Foote & Wilson, The Viking World by James Graham-Campbell, Feud In The Icelandic Saga & Medieval Iceland by Jesse Byock.

Am I good to go? Are there any other suggestions? I will be registering an account to this board at a future date.

The links are innumerable. Libraries remain a major resource. Museums. And numerous companies exist which will sell reduced priced books.

Look for The Vikings: A History, Robert Ferguson.

The Vikings in History, FD Logan.

If possible, try looking at some primary sources. Many Viking skalds were transcribed in the Middle Ages. Another useful source is Ibn Fadlan's account of his travels to Russia

Occasionally my local library gives away their books, and I discovered a copy of The Norsemen by Count Eric Oxenstierna I picked up.

Can anyone vouche for reading this volume and please share your thoughts?

OT: additionally, has anyone read Mesopotamia by Gwendolyn Leick? Your thoughts? And is it worth a blind purchase?
