Claim/criticism: "Atlantis is first known from Plato and not any other earlier sources. Plato may have invented Atlantis as a model of his Ideal Utopian Republic."
Atlantis was not all ideal, the Account says they became decadent and arrogant and tried to enslave the world and were overthrown. It is true that the primary source for all subsequent Atlantology is "Plato's" text. And it is true that there is no universal consensus peer agreement on any other separate previous texts being related. But no one has proven that Atlantis is only a Platonic fiction. The Atlantis Account says the story went from Atlantis to Egyptian records/tradition to Sonchis to Solon to a number of succesive generations to the person who told a group of people that included Plato. So it is not true that it is Plato's story. Herodotus called the Atlantic the Atlantic before Plato though after Solon. There are some Egyptian sources which may match the Account such as the Medinet Habu story of the Sea Peoples. If the story is true then there must and will also be found other Egyptian and other nations sources which also match the Account. The Great city of "Asshur" in Genesis 10 might match Atlantis city and Tiahuanaco. In the Account the speakers say a few times it is true history not fiction (Timaeus 20e, 21b, 26f). People should first objectively and throughly look to see whether there is (or isn't) any match of all the details in the text in the world and history without bending, rather than just dismissing the sources as "unreliable". The spring at Athens was found just like the Atlantis Account said (Critias 112e). We have found stark matches of most of the details in the Account with our location candidate (see all the following chapters evidences).
