(This will be chapter 1 in the book, though only a mini-chapter. The chapters numbers here are out of order due to settings and order they were added.)
Brancaster/Branodunum/Branodunenses (Wash, castrum, equites Dalmatae, cohors Aquitaniroum) doesn't match any HB battle site of Arthur, but the name Branoduum/Brancaster or Aquitaniorum, and/or the number 1(st) might be found in Arthurian eg: Agned? Badon (last comes before 1st, 1st comes after last)? Branlant? Brandegoris &/or Bedegraine? Arthur's 1st lost battle? 1st battle of Clarence? Padarn/Badarn? 1st Unnamed horseman of 6 in Modena Archivolt? Ban? Bors/Ganys? Aneblayse? Bebbanburh/Bamburgh?
The reason why the 1st ND SS fort was not included in the 9 HB battle sites might be because the battles were not that far north and west around the indentation/bend towards the Wash and Fens. (The fort faces north not east.) Or it might be the 1st lost battle of Arthur's (or of whoever since some say Arthur wasn't there at the first lost battle). Or the fort may have been in hands of Saxons who ranged from the Wash to the Solent. Or it might have been a gift to Hengist like Thancastre or Thanet.
