Now I'm listening to the biggest b-tch in the former Yugoslavia, Ivana Banfic. YuGo, cg_rommel, etc... just listen to her accent?

It's like hearing an angel talk. She says just about every letter combination that's rough, hideous, and strong in this whole language, and it sounds like she's mumbling french with a mouthful of butter. It's just so soft and beautiful, she makes me feel like a hick.

Ko' tebe nikoga nisam voljela

a ja sam bacila svijet na koljena

I sad budis me
bez prava, da se branim
i kad pola zemlje spava
ja razmisljam o tebi
a svoje tajne odajem samo sebi

Why this silence
Let everyone know/understand
Lets shout it to the world then they'll know

not a perfect translation but meaning is the same more or less

The most beautiful Christian song ever... Seve's version, of course.

We'll super-Croatify the lyrics so no one thinks she's a Krajina returnee.

Sa neba oblaci prijete sudbinom
U raj ga vijetrovi nose
Bez njega nema zivota sudbino
Nek i mene andjeli prose

DAJ MI DA ZIVIM BEZ NJEGA O BOZE!
DA VIDAM TUGE OD SNA!
SKINITE LANCE SA MENE O BOZE!
JER BEZ NJEGA NISAM JA!

Dala bi sve na ovom svijetu
Da nas nema, DA NAS NIJE!
Neka me sijecanje mine sudbinom
Da sati su kao prije!

KAKO DA ZIVIM BEZ NJEGA O BOZE!
DA VIDAM TUGE OD SNA!
SKINITE LANCE SA NJEGA O BOZE!
I VRATI GA TU GDIJE SAM JA!

And my favorite song, as long as you ignore who she's probably singing about.

Misto radnje DISKO KLUB!
Svira NARODNJAKE! (At a Croatian disco? Sure...)
Pridje meni neki lik, "Drago mi je Ante!" (Pavlevic? )

Plesete li nebi hvala radje bi se udala
"Moze odmah curo draga!"
Ante - sala, sala!

AAAANNNNTTTTEEEE! Okani me se svega ti!
Puno si lip al nisi moj tip!

I dok sam u ritmu tekna, izvijala bok...
Ante mi se rastuzia, reda STOK na STOK!

"Slusaj, molim te! Bices moja, samo moja, DRAGA - VOLIM TE!"

And last song for today - the best song about the war here ever written.

Alka (Croat) did it in the form of a letter to a Bosnian friend.

I'm not able to write to you anymore
The grenade storm makes me deaf
Makes my lips mute, the hands stumbling over the words

Shall I ever be able to write to you again?
It used to be so easy
To sit with my eyes closed and imagine you by my side
Playing guitar, and sipping wine

It's used to be so easy
To confess you verses so confused and full of wonder

Shall we ever be able to live with as much dignity as we used to?
Sailing back on the nocturnal voyages and kissing the light
With all the sins and sanctities of the soul

It's so hard to think about life now
As the death is dancing and trembling above us
I think about that life from American soap operas
Or that life from socialistic burlesque of well-being and quality

To think of our love is sacriligious while the little girls are dying
Dreaming about magic and tenderness

I feel peverse because I think about love while the people leave homes with the plastic socks on their heads, carrying too-heavy bodies in their hearts.

Shall I ever be able to write to you again?
Shall we ever be able to live with as much dignity as we used to?

Hehehe. I have the Ante music video.

What is this last song called? really nice lyrics.

Don't you think Tanja Savic will be a huge success with Bosniaks? She sounds so much like Ceca, and since I know how much you all "dislike" her, Tanja would be a perfect replacement! Plus she never married a war criminal!

Stevan Andjelkovic - Sad mi Krivo

Date Posted: 08-Jan-2006 at 12:34
Tanja is pretty popular with Bosniaks, but there haven't been many Serbian singers who have really broken through.

Joksimovic has, though. When he went to Mostar for a concert, which you know is the most anti-Serb city probably in the whole of the world, the papers here were very impressed. It suddenly became taboo to joke about his pink suits and sensitive voice.

Ceca wasn't hated during the war. Bosniaks played her songs in their trenches as well. It was only for the things she said at her concert in "Sarajevo" (Lukavica) after the war that she became so unpopular.

"There's a city over these hills that needs to be burned like an oak branch, cut out like a cancer. Let them hear us!"

etc.

the universal soldier- from donovan

He's five feet two and he's six feet four
He fights with missiles and with spears
He's all of 31 and he's only 17
He's been a soldier for a thousand years

He's a Catholic, a Hindu, an atheist, a Jain,
a Buddhist and a Baptist and a Jew
and he knows he shouldn't kill
and he knows he always will
kill you for me my friend and me for you

And he's fighting for Canada,
he's fighting for France,
he's fighting for the USA,
and he's fighting for the Russians
and he's fighting for Japan,
and he thinks we'll put an end to war this way

And he's fighting for Democracy
and fighting for the Reds
He says it's for the peace of all
He's the one who must decide
who's to live and who's to die
and he never sees the writing on the walls

But without him how would Hitler have
condemned him at Dachau
Without him Caesar would have stood alone
He's the one who gives his body
as a weapon to a war
and without him all this killing can't go on

He's the universal soldier and he
really is to blame
His orders come from far away no more
They come from him, and you, and me
and brothers can't you see
this is not the way we put an end to war.

Eartha Kitt, baby.

You want to take me cruising on an ocean liner to places I long to see?
Well, with my champagne taste and your beer-bottle pockets...
Don't forget to write me when you get there in rowboat,
After you've paddled across the sea - without me!

Do you see us dining on caviar and pheasant with descendants of Royalty?
Well with my champagne taste and your beer bottle pockets...
I'll be having pheasant while you're dining with the peasants,
Dunking donuts in a diner - without me!

You said you have ambition to make my dream come true
Well brother, you just keep right on wishing
And all of my dreams will come true - without you!

And if I wanted diamonds, you'd offer me breakfast at Tiffany's
A luncheon at Cartier's, you'd recommend?
Well with my champagne taste and your beer bottle pockets...
You will have to work on something better than a Zirkon
Because your diamonds are this girl's worst friend...

So if you want me to be a part of your permanant employ
Before my champage fizzles, come up with the Real McCoy!
Show me you can separate the man from the boy
And give me a life of champagne taste!

del amitri - nothing ever happens

Post office clerks put up signs saying "position closed"
And secretaries turn off typewriters and put on their coats
And Janitors padlock the gates
For security guards to patrol
And bachelors phone up their friends for a drink
While the married ones turn on a chat show
And they'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Gentlemen time please you know we can't serve anymore
The traffic light change to stop when there's nothing to go
And by five o'clock everything's dead
And every third car is a cab
And ignorant people sleep in their beds
Like the doped white mice in the collage lab

And nothing ever happens
Nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before
And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Telephone exchanges click while there's nobody there
The Martians could land in the car park and no one would care
Close circuit cameras in department stores
Shoot the same movie every day
And the stars of these films neither die or get killed
Just survive constant action replay

And nothing ever happens
Nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before
And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

And bill boarding advertise products that nobody needs
While angry from Manchester writes to complain about
All the repeats on TV
Computer terminals report some gains
For the value of copper and tin
While American businessmen snap up Van Goghs
For the price of a hospital wing

And nothing ever happens
Nothing happens at all
The needle returns to the start of the song
And we all sing along like before

And nothing ever happens
Nothing happens at all
The'll burn down the synagogues at six o'clock
And we all go along like before
And we'll all be lonley tonight and lonely tomorrow
And we'll all be lonley tonight and lonely tomorrow

Al'Dino's newest CD was also recently released. It's a hardcore, traditional, Bosniak nationalist lovefest with songs like Bebo, Bosanska, Carsija, and so on.

The song Carsija is gorgeous. Amra Halebic helped him with the vocals and he used only traditional instruments, so it has a rich, authentic carsija feel. Carsija, of course, is an Ottoman-era marketplace style common in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Anyone here with more refined tastes in music will love this song.

http://www.sarajlije.homelinux.com/hit-mjeseca/02012006/zabavna/20/Al%20Dino%20-%20Carsija%20%28Ne%20mozes%20sam%20umrijeti%29%20-%20www.sarajlije.com.mp3 - CARSIJA!

Lijepo je doc' u svoju carsiju
lijepo je imat svoju avliju
malu ali ipak dragu
i majku na kucnom pragu
da te doceka

lijepo je doc' u svoju carsiju
ko pobjednik se vratiti
s ljudima znati kafu popiti
i bol i radost podijeliti
ne mozes sam umrijeti

Ovdje su djedovi mi stari
sjeme posadili
amanet najljepsi mi dali
da ovdje ostarim u Bosni!

YuGo,

You'll love Bosanska - it's such an old Sarajevo School of Rock song.

From Wikipedia, for those who don't know:

"The Sarajevo school of pop rock collectively refers to the popular music created between http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1960" title="1960 - 1960 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991" title="1991 - 1991 by artists and bands native to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarajevo" title="Sarajevo - Sarajevo , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnia_and_Herzegovina" title="Bosnia and Herzegovina - Bosnia and Herzegovina (then part of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_Federal_Republic_of_Yugoslavia" title="Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia - Yugoslavia ).The music created in this period helped create a distinct identity for modern Sarajevo and make the city the center of Yugoslav http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_roll" title="Rock and roll - rock and roll . The regional influence of the Sarajevo pop rock school has been tremendous, significantly shaping the popular music of the former Yugoslav republics to this day."

So many posts in so little time and most are unreadable to me, so that made me think that i'll post something in English for a change and not another bloody pop-artist with an acustic guitar in a cafeteria, something political for all of you, enjoy:...Hardly think anyone will read it, as i haven't , but who knows.

Slayer: "Payback"

You need to take a closer look at me
Cause I was born to be the thorn in your side
No matter what you think you're gonna see
You never wanted this barrage of f**king pride
You don't want none of me

You've got a f**king catheter in your brain
Pissing your common sense away
When you draw first blood you can't stop this fight
For my own peace of mind - I'm going to
Tear your f**king eyes out
Rip your f**king flesh off
Beat you till you're just a f**king lifeless carcass
f**k you and your progress
Watch me f**king regress
You were made to take the fall - now you're nothing
Payback's a bitch motherf**ker

You only live to be a parasite
Your life must suck when nothing's going your way
Everything melts away before your eyes
You're just a punk that doesn't have the sense to get away
Get the f**k away

You've got a f**king catheter in your brain
Pissing your common sense away
When you draw first blood you can't stop this fight
For my own peace of mind - I'm going to
Tear your f**king eyes out
Rip your f**king flesh off
Beat you till you're just a f**king lifeless carcass
f**k you and your progress
Watch me f**king regress
You were made to take the fall - now you're nothing
Payback's a bitch motherf**ker

I will never become your f**king scapegoat
I don't know how it feels to come up short
I only want vengeance
To come shining down on me
I don't want you to die
Before I get the chance to kill you myself

You've got a f**king catheter in your brain
Pissing your common sense away
This is for the mindf**k
This is for the hell of it
This is for me- I'm going to
Tear your f**king eyes out
Rip your f**king flesh off
Beat you till you're just a f**king lifeless carcass
f**k you and your progress
Watch me f**king regress
You were made to take the fall - now you're nothing
Tear your f**king eyes out
Rip your f**king flesh off
Beat you till you're just a f**king lifeless carcass
f**k you and your progress
Watch me f**king regress
You were made to take the fall - now you're nothing
Now you're nothing

Hey Mila!

I didn't know Al Dino was a hardcore Bosniak!? Oh well..I like his music! Bosanska is a classic, i love it. carsija is great too!

And no, I am choosing not to listen to that Emina Jahovic.. well at least not untill you listen to some of my hard-core serbian songs.. especially since I see how her voice influences you! Hehe.

and comeone.. how hard-core could they be! It's me!

Okay Mila, do you like Mile Kitic?

I love his music, here are two popular songs from his new cd...

Tatina Maza!

http://media.putfile.com/Mile-Kitic---2005---Tatina-maza - http://media.putfile.com/Mile-Kitic---2005---Tatina-maza

Vidi Se!

http://media.putfile.com/Mile-Kitic---2005---05---Vidi-se - http://media.putfile.com/Mile-Kitic---2005---05---Vidi-se

I think this is more of your style.. Mile is originally from Bijeljina, northern Bosnia. He Lived in Sarajevo before the war, and was even friends with Hanka Paldum! Today he lives in Belgrade, and has developed a horribly fake Serbian Ekavic accent.. ehehe

Here is his 1989 hit, EMINA!

http://media.putfile.com/MILE_KITIC___EMINA - http://media.putfile.com/MILE_KITIC___EMINA

Emina! Emina! Eminaaaaaa!

Sounds like a perfect Serbian Hodza! Hahaha.

And Serbian Hodza? I love that.

Well, right now I'm listening to Queens' Bohemian Rhapsody!!! Awesome!!! The next cd is by Anya, and the one following that is Grand Funk Railroad! hee haw!!!

My afternoon session of cds are very classical, to wit:

Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1 in Bb- ;
Brahms’ Fantasias - Capriccio in D, Intermezzo in A, and Capriccio in G;
Chopin’s Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise;
Chopin's Piano Concerto in E consisting of Allegro Maestoso, Romance: Larghetto and Rondo Vivace.

Ahhh...should make for a very relaxing (but a bit intense)afternoon.

That Hungarian Eurovision song, Fjodor Vilag!

Hungarian is just so weird, I love it. I look at the letters and the noises she makes is nothing like I expect.

And it has every now and then that straight place in the throat as Turkish. Sounds like a robot or something, it's so weird and attractive. I giggle and screw up my face unconsciously ever time I hear it. LOL
