I found these rare and amazing photos showing Curtiss P-40 Warhawk on the deck or operating on aircraft carriers. There was a naval version of this fighter? To see the photos, visit the link below:

A nice little aircraft fighting way above its weight but achieving much when utilising its strengths. Pretty sure your photos were of aircraft involved in Operation Torch and belonged to the army's 33rd fighting group on the way to North Africa in the USS Chenango. The first involving the P-40s involvement in North Africa. The second the P-40s adventures from conception until the end of service.
