There were naval versions of the P-51 Mustang proposed,
& carrier test-trials were done, but not 'operations' as such.

The Mustang generally outperformed the big radial engine powered
fighters but was deemed not altogether suitable for carrier ops due to
tricky low speed flying control characteristics.

Some of the pictures clearly show Mustangs being transported overseas by
aircraft carriers, but the USAAF were not flying combat ops from them.
