We have a topic about most overrated generals.
How about a topic about most underrated ones?
Those that participated in obscure yet important campaigns and are almost unknown to most of us.
This is Modern Warfare topic so, please, stay within the period.

Marshall Zhukov of USSR is one of the most underrated generals during WW2 I think.

Zhukov is an interesting choice. The problem with his recognition is that during cold war everything Allies did was enlarged and what Soviets did was diminished. If Montgomery accomplished 1/10 of what Zhukow did, we would be still singing songs about Montgomery.

General Klebes that served under Napoleon most of his life. He even survived a musket wound to the head and still managed to command.
